Conor OBrien

I went to school in St Peters College Wexford which had a seminary once and which closed in 1996. St Peters College was a good foundation for me to develop my Christian faith, the college itself is steeped in history, it has a rare Pugin chapel. Maynooth where I am now is the last seminary in the Republic of Ireland with one in Belfast called St Malachys. I always enjoyed going to places like lourdes and I went on the recent World Youth Day trip to Brazil.

This quotation is from st. Augustine.
"Great are you, O Lord, and exceedingly worthy of praise; your power is immense, and your wisdom beyond reckoning. And so we men, who are a due part of your creation, long to praise you we also carry our mortality about with us, carry the evidence of our sin and with it the proof that you thwart the proud. You arouse us so that praising you may bring us joy, because you have made us and drawn us to yourself, and our heart is unquiet until it rests in you."

Augustines journey reminds me of my own journey. Augustine was searching for the truth going from different religions until he converted to Christianity when he was 33.We are all searching for something and the love that God shows us when he was put on the cross can draw all humankind to that love.He died for me and you so we should live for him. St Monica prayed for the conversion of her son so she is a good example to all parents to pray for the conversion of their own children to Jesus who is the Way, the truth and the Life.
